It's now less than one month until Christmas, and a thousand jewellers suddenly scream out in terror.
This is easily the most stressful time of year for the jewellery industry, as we dread the last minute shoppers who are interested in having something custom made in the last weeks coming up to Christmas. Don't get me wrong, it is a wonderful time of year and we love/need customers! But there is always the latecomer in the final days of the Christmas shopping period expecting to be able to have something made, with no understanding that we have been taking Christmas orders for weeks and that there is simply not enough time in the day to get everything done. Even if we were able to forego sleep, there is still not enough time for that last minute order.
To have something done right, time must be taken. There is nothing worse than a rushed job. It would be a discredit to the artform of jewellery making and an insult to the client to bang out a quick, slap dash piece of jewellery that they will pay good money for.
This is a Christmas message going out to all people thinking that they will have something beautiful made for that special someone (or for themselves) this year. Go to the jeweller NOW. Tomorrow is too late. Get your idea down on paper, give it to your jeweller, and get yourself on the list. Because I can guarantee you, every day you wait puts what you want made further and further behind.
Thank you for reading.
